A Poem Called “What Does It Mean To Be Wild”

What does it mean to be wild, what does wild mean to me
It means to be as free as free can be, without a care in the world
It means to be fearless, and live life as if there is no tomorrow
It means that true beauty is truly undefined,
it can be whatever you want it to be
It means you say whatever you feel loudly and proudly.

What does it mean to be wild, what does wild mean to me
It means that you live your life by your definition of success
It means to love passionately with all your heart
It means to follow your dreams without inhibition
It means to be yourself no matter what.

What does it mean to be wild, what does wild mean to me
It means to believe in yourself when no one else will
It means to fight for what you believe in
It means to ignore the popular trends, and follow your own
It means to never give up or give in.

What does it mean to be wild, what does wild mean to me
It means to never settle for less
It means to always believe that you’re the best
It means to be anything you want to be
It means to follow your heart, and let it guide you.

What does it mean to be wild, what does wild mean to me
It means to live your life on your own terms
It means to be you, and never let anyone define you
Well at least that’s what wild means to me
What does it mean to you?

By Aminah Ahmed

“What Does It Mean To Be Wild”, was inspired by India Arie’s interview with Oprah Winfrey on Super Soul Sunday. The lesson that I learned from India is that you have to live your life, and not let other people live their life through you.

In a few hours daylight savings time will end (Sunday November 3, at 2 am), and you will get one extra hour of sleep (oh yeah).
As they say it’s time to fall back, so don’t forget to set your clock back one hour!

Not only is the time going to change, but there will also be a solar eclipse.

Here are a few tips, if you want to check out the eclipse.

    1.    What parts of the world will see it?
The East Coast (USA),as well as northern South America, southern Europe, the Middle East and sections Africa.

    2.    What time will it take place?
…6:38 a.m. EST. The moon will move off the sun’s disc by 7:10 a.m., according to Geoff Chester, an astronomer at the U.S. Naval Observatory.

    3.    Viewing instructions
Don’t look directly at the sun, instead you need a pinhole camera.

On a spiritual note the eclipse is a special time to remember Allah: The Prophet Muhammad (swt) said,
"When you see the eclipse, remember Allah and say takbir, pray and give Sadaqah." [Bukhari, 2:154]

    The eclipse prayer:

    * Stand up for prayer as normal, and make your intention for the eclipse prayer.
    * Recite Qur'an as you normally would.
    * Go into Rukoo' [bow] and prolong the rukoo' with duas [prayers].
    * Stand up and recite Qur'an again.
    * Go into Rukoo [bow] again and prolong the rukoo' with duas but not as long as the first rukoo'.
    * Stand up and then go into sujood [prostration] and prolong the sujood with duas.
    * Sit up straight.
    * Go into sujood again and prolong it [but not as long as the first sujood].
    * Repeat the above steps for the second raka'a [second unit of prayer]. [Bukhari, 2.154]

In addition on Sunday night at sunset the Islamic new year will begin.
The first month on the Islamic calendar is Muharram 1435, may Allah(God) bless you, and your family for the new year!
